Screamfest Was Very Awesome Sauce

The following is provided by a guest writer who took part in Screamfest. Many thanks to Damien for submitting his thoughts on our Halloween event. Now, to enjoy...

In October 2023, The Rockstar Experience hosted an event called “Screamfest” at the catholic church in Herne Bay. It was a Halloween themed music programme/workshop for teenagers (the best type of agers).

At the event we played several different songs like Psychosocial, Psychosocial and also Psychosocial. I don’t remember the other ones.

What I liked about the event was that it had a perfect balance of freedom and also education. When I say freedom, I mean that it's not like going to a school. It's more like going to a friend's house to study.

Joe, Coor, Cobi and Lee, the mentors, gave us the freedom to decide which songs we wanted to play and which instruments we would like to learn. It felt a little odd playing Slipknot in a catholic church hall but nonetheless it was very fun to play and that goes for all of the songs that were played there.

The other participants there were all very friendly and very talented in what they did. Being in an environment knowing that every single person there had similar interests to me made me feel very at home. All in all, Screamfest was very awesome sauce (insert heartwarming music and credits here).
